- Align 3D
- Heightfield Create 3D
- Trace Create 3D
- … and several small and major additions to existing tools.
- Connect 3D
Fixed a few serious crashes; most notably when you connected multiple (merged) objects to its main input. BTW. All merged objects will be “Connect3D”ed individually…
A simple tools which connects points with a line (I always hated polylines with published points).
Another interesting release, I believe…
- Connect 3D
Connect vertices or particles… Too many options too explain. Keep an eye on the showcase to discover the possibilities. This tool is somewhat unfinished and therefore carries a beta-label for now. (Requests to play with it were too frequent to hold it back any longer.)
- Mapped Duplicates 3D
Spread and control object duplicates in XYZ space, controlled by images. This can generate very complex geometry. Handle with care, buy some additional memory and don’t drink too much coffee.
- Retime 3D
A simple 3D retiming tool. Not only shift time (which could be done with the Duplicate 3D), but also change speed or stretch as you like.
- Segment Transform
Grid patterned transforming of your image.
Transform? Transform! Nothing more than a simple Fusion imitation, but with the added bonus of having the Warp Mask feature, common to all Krokodove warp tools .
Mess around with your mesh. I’ll cook up a few showcase samples over the next days…
Now no longer hangs the Fusion 32-bit version
Source points now behave as expected (a very long standing bug)
Angles now reset to their default value and not to 45 degrees like they used to (another long standing bug)
So what’s new?
- Cut 3D
This cuts off other objects with a plane. For now it only works with triangle and quad meshes (not particles). Ideal for creating that fake reflection you always wanted 🙂
- Fold Create 3D
Nothing new here but, I broke backward compatibility somewhat and you’ll need to manually replace “KD_DataFoldInputs3D” with “KD_DataFoldCreateInputs3D” in your composition file (using Wordpad or Notepad or any other simple text editor you might have)
- Object Create 3D
This tool creates (simple) objects and serves more as a testbed for shapes I need internally. So most of the object types are invisible to you now, but this collection (the ones visible to you) will most likely grow rapidly over the next releases. For now I haven’t even taken care of hiding the unused sliders/controls.
An image tool which fills up the shape with other shapes…
Added a few sliders here and there… and they do something as well.
As a general note… For the next year, you may as well consider all Krokodove 3D tools in a permanent beta status. I’m using the tools myself daily, and as such, I try to keep them as s stable and backward compatible as possible. But there’s a lot of new ground to cover, and discover, and it’s unlikely it will go without further hiccups.
So what’s new?
- Morph – Is working again in 64-bit (!)
- Sort – This little tool sorts the pixels by luminance or any other channel. And when connecting a second image, it ‘sorts’ (spreads) the pixels of the second image according to the pixels of the first image…
